Pandas spawn in groups of 1–2 in jungle biomes.

Pandas will occasionally lie on their backs or sit upright with their paws together.

Pandas will seek out bamboo and cake items and eat them, which produces particle effects. Pandas will follow players holding bamboo.

Pandas can have different personalities: either normal, aggressive, lazy or playful.

Aggressive pandas are neutral, and will attack the player and other mobs when hit.
Lazy pandas will not interact with the player or eat items off the floor.
Playful pandas will roll over and jump around.

Brown pandas do not have different personalities.

Baby pandas will sometimes sneeze, producing particle effects and startling their parents. When they sneeze, they have a chance to drop a slime ball.

The appearance of pandas depend on their personality:

Pandas are usually black and white, but there is a rare brown and white variant.

Upon death, adult pandas will drop:

Like other baby animals, killing a baby panda yields no items or experience.

The baby panda's sneeze is likely a reference to the popular video of a real baby panda sneezing while its parent eats.
Brown pandas are a real subspecies of the giant panda.
