Minecraft Earth

This version of Minecraft features many unique gameplay aspects and interactions similar to the main game.[2]

This is not a port of a existing game, and is a adaption of Minecraft (Bedrock), and Minecraft: Java Edition.[2]

This version of Minecraft utilizes Xbox Live.[3]

Main Features[

Minecraft Earth tries to be similar to the main line games, or the core ones. Featuring the same Survival mode they have with some tweaks and changes to make it fit the AR style.[2]

The game uses Azure's new Azure Spatial Anchors along with Open Maps technology to help with the experience. This helps map out where certain objects should be along with pining players builds.[2][4]

Minecraft Earth is Survival based, and has you walking around in your real world defeating mobs and collecting resources. You can either spend your time mining and slaying or earn experience and rewards in Adventure.[2]

The game also features similar micro transactions like Minecraft (Bedrock) with some additional functionality.[2]

Skins are confirmed to be seen in game when playing, but custom skins are not.[3]

Adventure[

Adventure is similar to Minecraft's basic Survival Mode, and has you gathering resources and collecting XP.[2][4]

Base Gameplay[

Like in Survival mode you have health and hunger. Hunger in Minecraft Earth affects your reach distance, and can severely limit how far you can mine or attack.[4]

In Adventure you can travel alone, or walk around with invited friends in your party, in a party all players need to be near each other for interactions.[2] Every interaction is live like building, mining, or attacking, privacy settings will limit how other players see you though.[2][4] When in a party you can collect materials which is shared within your party.[2] Inventories are separate though, and are not shared. Players cannot lose items, but this is yet to be fully confirmed.[2] PVP is confirmed to be disabled or not implemented.[2]

Gathering Resources[

Gathering resources is similar to Minecraft except in Minecraft Earth you can encounter tapables, which are instant mine resources to help you along your journey. Blocks gathered can be used on Build Plates

Leveling up and Quests[

When playing the game, you may earn experience points (XP), and gain levels. These levels in game can earn you rewards such as more build plates, or loot.[2]

Another way to earn XP is through Quests. Quests currently have little information on them, but are confirmed.[4]

Leveling and Quests do not have a lot of information at the time.

Trading[

Players can gather items together in a party or alone. When playing with others you may trade items with each other.[2][4]

Its not confirmed if trading can be done over wifi or if its local only.

Mob Variants[

You may encounter different mob variants to "capture". You may breed them for different rarities.[4]

Currently its unknown if the varieties have different drops.

No information is available on capturing/taming mobs.

Boss Mobs[

Confirmed, but no information to share currently.[2][4]

Build Plates[

Build Plates are worlds that players can use to build on. They can be shared, and worked on by invited individuals.[2][4]

Sizes[

Build plates can vary from size, reaching up to 200 feet. Currently there is no block translation of the size.[2] Using the shop you can upgrade the size of the plot, or buy a new plot.

Plots can also be earned via the leveling system.

Functionality[

Build Plates function like personal realms, and can be used anywhere. You may invite friends to build with you locally and then share the world to others.[2][4]

Once you're done, if you want to have a persistent hologram of your world pinned somewhere, it would need to be reviewed before its pinned.[2]

People who aren't invited can interact with the pinned world locally, once they leave said world everything will be reset.[4] Only invited individuals can change the real world and take resources from it, non invited players cannot collect resources.[4]

Accessibility[

Build Plates can be seen through your world as pinned worlds, and can be opened to explore and interact with.[4]To get your own, you will need to level up or purchase them through the store.

Build Plates can also be shared via a link, so you don't need to be near the pin to see creations.[2]The links shared can be temporary or never expiring.[2]

Micro Transactions[

The game has been confirmed to have full micro transactions.[2]

The in game currency is Rubies not to be confused with Minecoins[2]

They can currently be used to purchase:

Plot expansions are not confirmed, but most likely will be added, they have stated up to 200x200 ft, so smaller worlds are confirmed.[2]
